So, after minutes of deliberation I have decided to embark on a two month journey to Japan. Why would I do such a rediculous thing? Well to be honest this will be the last time in quite a while that I will have free time to travel and I want to do something exotic, and since I've already seen Canada, I thought that Japan would be the next wildest thing.

The Japlan

The goal for this excursion is to not just learn a new language (of which I have no prior experience) and become more aware of a culture different than mine, but to live like the Japanese do and to try and have as much fun as possible before I am doomed to the hellish unending chasm of studying and sleeplessness which is medical school. To help me do this I am in the process of making a list of things that I MUST to do before I finish my trip:

Visit the Imperial Palace - Done 6/9/09
Sing Karaoke - Done
East sushi from a conveyor belt - Done 6/10/09
Fight a Ninja
Climb Mt. Fuji - DONE!!!
Play Pachinko - Done 6/11/09
Use the public baths
Visit a Buddist Shrine - Done
Protect Tokyo from Godzilla
Sleep outside - Done
Buy the craziest thing I can find in a vending machine
Find a black person - Done 6/6/09
Survive Fugu
go to Shakey's Pizza Tokyo for (weird) unlimited pizza - Done 6/8/09
Visit Harajuku on a Sunday - Done 6/7/09
Take pictures with cosplayers
Have a coffee at a maid cafe
Tour the Sapporo Beer museum
Give Hachiko a treat for his loyalty
Watch the Yomiuri Giants win a game - Done 6/5/09
Visit Tokyo Disney - Done
Go to the Ueno Zoo - Done 6/11/09
Sleep in a capsule hotel
Pray to the Iron Phallus - Done
Watch Bunraku
